Job description
We are looking for compassionate, organised and professional individuals to join a busy team as a Band 3 Call Handler based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
These are temporary roles for 6-8 weeks initially.
As the first point of contact for patients, healthcare professionals and members of the public, you will play a vital role in ensuring calls are managed efficiently and directed appropriately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to delivering outstanding NHS services.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Accurately record and update information on electronic systems.
- Signpost callers to the appropriate department or service.
- Deal with sensitive and confidential information in line with NHS policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives and healthcare professionals.
- Escalate urgent concerns following departmental procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain service standards.
About You
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
Essential Requirements
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Good keyboard and IT skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Desirable
- Previous NHS experience.
- Experience working in a call centre, contact centre or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of NHS systems and processes.
