Job description

We are currently recruiting for experienced FLT Drivers to join a busy warehouse operation in Chorley. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with previous forklift truck experience looking to secure a long-term position with ongoing training and development.

A valid FLT licence is not essential. We welcome candidates who hold a valid, expired, or in-house licence, provided they can demonstrate previous experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse environment.

Location: Chorley
Hours: Full Time
Shift Pattern: Rotating Shifts (Monday to Friday)

  • 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Pay Rate

  • £12.71 per hour basic pay during training.
  • Following successful completion of training and assessment:
    • £13.21 per hour for Reach Truck  OR VNA operators.
    • £13.71 per hour for REACH and VNA operators. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating forklift trucks safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
  • Loading and unloading trailers and vehicles.
  • Moving stock and materials to designated locations.
  • Maintaining accurate stock movements and storage practices.
  • Supporting goods-in and goods-out operations.
  • Carrying out routine equipment checks and reporting defects.
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties when required.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous FLT experience is essential.
  • Experience operating one or more of the following truck types:
    • Reach Truck
    • VNA (Very Narrow Aisle)
    • Counterbalance
  • Valid, expired, or in-house licences will be considered.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts on a weekly basis.
  • Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and punctual.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
