Health and Safety Manager
Competitive Salary
Monday – Friday / General Office Hours
Wrexham
Our client based in Wrexham area is looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As Health and Safety Manager, you will help maintain high health and safety standards across our client’s food manufacturing sites. You will work closely with operational teams, contractors and external advisers to promote safe working practices, support incident investigations and drive improvements across the business.
Performance Objectives
· Monitor health and safety standards across sites, including the activities of employees and subcontractors.
· Support the Operations Manager with incident and accident investigations, reporting and follow-up actions.
· Record and manage non-conformances, corrective actions and preventive actions within the health and safety management system.
· Prepare permits to work for contractors and support safe working arrangements.
· Promote a positive health and safety culture through regular engagement with colleagues and managers.
· Deliver toolbox talks and support clear, practical health and safety communications.
· Attend health and safety meetings and contribute to agreed improvement actions.
· Liaise with external health and safety consultants as required.
· Compile accurate health and safety performance information and share relevant KPIs with the business.
· Support administration of the Environmental Management System.
· Follow company food safety requirements and support safe practices within a food manufacturing environment.
Person Specification
· Experience in a similar health and safety role and an IOSH qualification.
· Strong organisational and administrative skills, with good Microsoft Office skills.
· Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
· A proactive approach, a passion for health and safety and high personal standards.
· Flexibility to work occasional early starts or late finishes to support a 24-hour production operation, and to travel between sites.
