🚛 Weighbridge Operator – Immediate Start

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Weighbridge Operator to join our client for an immediate start.

Previous weighbridge experience is preferred, although candidates with strong customer service, administration or waste industry experience may also be considered.

💷 Pay & Hours

• £13.00 per hour starting pay
• 06:00 – 16:00
• Immediate start available
• Previous weighbridge experience ideally preferred

📋 About the Role

As a Weighbridge Operator, you will be the first point of contact for customers arriving on site, playing an important role in ensuring they receive a professional, efficient and friendly service.

The role is fast-paced and involves managing multiple activities throughout the day, including customer service, weighbridge operations, administration and ensuring incoming waste complies with site requirements.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and traffic onto site and operate the weighbridge.
• Direct vehicles to the correct areas of the site.
• Carry out visual checks of incoming waste loads.
• Ensure incoming waste complies with the site's waste licence requirements.
• Escalate any questionable or non-conforming loads to management.
• Complete waste rejection paperwork where required.
• Accurately record vehicle weights and waste types.
• Ensure weighbridge tickets and information are correctly recorded on the company system.
• Report any contamination or non-conforming waste immediately.
• Explain and enforce site rules with customers and visitors.
• Check that all required waste documentation and EWC codes are correct.
• Ensure vehicles are weighed correctly before leaving site.
• Assist with weighbridge calibration checks and visits from Trading Standards.
• Handle customer calls and email enquiries, directing queries to the appropriate department.
• Assist with general administration and customer service duties.
• Follow all Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental and HR procedures.
• Maintain a good knowledge of the company's products and services.

• Ideally experienced in a weighbridge operator role.
• Confident communicating with customers and site visitors.
• Organised and accurate when dealing with paperwork and computer systems.
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Customer-focused with a professional and positive attitude.
• Able to follow procedures and site regulations.
• Ideally experienced within the waste management or recycling industry.
